THE SHOP OF PHYLLIS
The front doors' designs of shops are just like the first impressions when you met someone.
The designs will show the identity of the shops and attract customers' attentions.
Besides, it could be the reason for the customers whether they decide to open the doors or not.
Therefore, this project we would like to show our classmates that different personal identities, characters and preferences would be reflected on their own shop designs.
We discussed the questions and the multiple choices for them which could express their own personalities first. Moreover, we chose the types of the building materials for the front doors such as roofs, windows, signboards and the staffs which may appear in front of the shops (Figure 1).

We asked classmates to join the activity to answer the questions and then pick up their own materials.
The materials were divided by the answers like the picture below (Figure 2).

Finally, they would compose their front doors according to the material that they got (Figure 3).

These front doors not only showed their preferences, but also delivered the messages that our group wants to convey.
This topic was inspired by the trip of design festival to Shoreditch.
Our group members found that there are many featured shops.
The front doors pictures that we took in Shoreditch could be found on Instagram now by searching hashtag, #SHOPSDITCH or people, Shopsditch (Figure 4).
